Description

1. Product Overview

The LB-108/LB-80/LB-63 series gear pumps are positive displacement pumps specifically designed for refrigeration systems and industrial lubrication applications . As a member of the LB series, these pumps take the advantage of advanced structural design, where “L” stands for “refrigeration” and “B” denotes “pump” in the industry naming convention, indicating their specialization in handling refrigeration oil and similar lubricating media . With reliable sealing performance, stable operation, and excellent adaptability to medium viscosity, they have become a preferred matching component for refrigeration units and industrial equipment requiring continuous lubrication or fluid transfer.

2. Structural Features

  • Advanced Gear Tooth Profile: Adopting double-arc sine curve tooth profile, the pumps eliminate relative sliding between tooth flanks during meshing, thus avoiding wear, reducing noise, and eliminating fluid trapping phenomena . This design ensures smooth operation, low vibration, and a longer service life compared to involute gear pumps.
  • Reliable Sealing System: Equipped with two types of shaft end seals—mechanical seal and packing seal—both selected for excellent leak-proof performance . The mechanical seal adopts international advanced technology, making it suitable for media containing ammonia or freon that are prone to leakage, ensuring stable operation in refrigeration environments .
  • Overload Protection Device: A differential pressure valve is integrated as overload protection, with the full reflux pressure set to 1.5 times the rated discharge pressure . The valve can be adjusted within the allowable discharge pressure range according to actual working conditions, but it is not suitable for long-term decompression operation; an additional pressure relief valve should be installed in the pipeline if necessary.
  • Compact and Durable Construction: The pump body features a compact structure, light weight, and easy maintenance . It is manufactured with high-quality materials to resist wear and corrosion, ensuring reliable performance even in harsh industrial environments.

4. Application Scope

These pumps are suitable for conveying lubricating media without solid particles or fibers, non-corrosive, and with properties similar to lubricating oil . Typical applications include:
  • Refrigeration systems: Matching with refrigerators to convey refrigeration oil containing ammonia or freon .
  • Industrial lubrication: Serving as lubricating oil pumps in metallurgy, machinery, construction, and aviation industries .
  • Fluid transfer: Used as transfer pumps or booster pumps for turbine oil, mechanical oil, and other similar media in power plants, refineries, and chemical factories .
Note: The pumps are not suitable for conveying corrosive media, media with solid impurities, or high-viscosity media exceeding 1500 mpa·s.

5. Installation & Operation Notes

  1. Before startup, check the seal integrity and ensure the pump body is filled with the conveying medium to avoid dry running, which may damage the seal and gears.
  2. For media prone to solidification (e.g., asphalt), preheat the pump body according to operating guidelines to reduce startup power and prevent pump damage .
  3. The inlet and outlet pipelines should be properly sized to minimize flow resistance; ensure the suction pipeline is airtight to avoid air intake .
  4. During operation, monitor the working pressure, temperature, and noise. Stop immediately if abnormal conditions (e.g., excessive noise, leakage, or overheating) occur, and troubleshoot before restarting.
  5. Regular maintenance: Check the wear of gears and seals periodically, replace worn parts in time, and keep the pump clean to ensure long-term stable operation.

6. Safety & Maintenance

Always disconnect the power supply before maintenance. Store spare parts in a dry and clean environment to avoid contamination. Follow local safety regulations and operating procedures when installing, operating, or maintaining the pump. For detailed maintenance guidelines, refer to the product manual or contact our technical support team.
